Roof weathering initially with oil paints. I’m using Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber in this photo.

I then added brown pigment to the oils to darken some of the rust patterns using a stiff brush. Try and follow the metal forms on the roof. If you don’t like what you did the oils can be easily removed using turpentoid and a soft rag or Qtips dipped in turpentoid and you can start over.
