Tony Fey, Conductor – In Memoriam

Tony Fey, former conductor at Osawatomie, passed away on November 1, 2017

Obituary:

John A. “Tony” Fey 66 died November 1, 2017 at Menorah Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He was born August 1, 1951 in Dodge City, Kansas.
Tony was an active member of the Cure of Ars Catholic Church. He was retired as a conductor/brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad. Tony was known for his kind and generous nature. He enjoyed gardening, riding his bike and faithfully worked out at his local gym. Tony grew up having a love of horses and was a cowboy at heart. Working for the railroad instilled a love of trains and he enjoyed his model railroad he collected over the years. Tony was blessed to have his neighbor Carol Knott who helped him to appointments and offered him friendship and comfort.
Tony is survived by his sister Rebecca “Becky” and her husband Dan Freund of Canton, Kansas; brother Tim and his wife Bobbie Fey of Wichita, Kansas; Nephews Matthew and Justin Fey and Niece Sonya and her husband Lance Douglas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Trudy Fey.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton with the Reverend Nicholas Voelker Celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be prior to the Mass at 9: 30 a.m. at the church. In keeping with Tony’s wishes there will be no visitation and the casket will remain closed.
Memorials may be made in Tony’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Cure of Ars Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
