How close is this car to the car on p. 136 of Jerry’s book? I have two of those kits.
What about decals?
Looks very close, Pat. It looks like the number of windows on front of the cupola varies, but otherwise a very credible match.
What era are you modeling? Since the caboose lasted until 1953 a more typical lettering scheme would be appropriate.

We have five sets of caboose decals in the company store, one for the StLB&M cabooses. Since no modern shots have surfaced I think you’re safe in using the set for the Brownie cabooses.
How’s the F&C kit look to build? I’ve built his Wabash and SP boxcars and they were great while others not so.
It’s at my friend’s house. I’ve never picked it up. But the general assessment appears to be its a pretty good match for the prototype photo, right ?
I agree with Mr. Ryker, it looks to be very close.
