Just got one of these and put it on the track to run it. I do not have DCC but a friend does. I have seen them run on his and mine. In DC the engines starts slowly and throttle response is good and is delayed. Sound is plenty loud. Engine is a very good puller handling 16 cars (box cars) up my 2 % grade. I will have 3 changes made in the coding. I will slow the oscilating headlight way down, change the bell speed, and change the air horn.
Other than that I am very happy with this engine.
Found a photo of the model and a YouTube overview.

YouTube overview of the T&p E-8 in this thread now.
the headlight acts a little hectic
The paint job looks good although the Eagle yellow looks a little bright and the roof grey is wrong and should be a darker shade. The pilot coupler stick out too far but there’s probably a Kadee replacement that’s more prototypical. I wish they’d inset the windshields like Athearn did their Genesis F units and the windshield wipers are just odd looking since the windows are set back so far.
