After a bit of a tease on their Facebook page (and a RPM meet) ScaleTrains has announced a Mopac GATC 4566 Airside covered hooper.

I just got the two Tangent GM&O “Return to MP RR Atchison KS” 4180 Airslides. ScaleTrains has also said they are going to do a 4180 too. Which will make a Mopac version first…

The ScaleTrains 4566 cars are replicas from photographs of MP cars…and were scaled from blueprints from GATC. They will also include rotating roller bearing trucks.

The same holds true for the ScaleTrains 4180…They are apparently offering four different versions; the 4 largest production versions…would be my guess.

Tangent Scale Models Air Slides are superb models, as well. The three versions that Dave Lehbach has offered all include possible MP cars in future runs.

Hopefully we’ll have the ScaleTrains MP airslides in the company store at a discount for MPHS members. Will keep you posted.
