The Texas and pacific bulkhead flat that was number 821146 was original what number series when built? I think these were built in 1951 marshal shops using general steel casting frames etc. My builders diagram seem to show these flat cars were used for piggy back trucks (3) Celotex and sheetrock loading (5 and then up to 45) and probably brick loading later on in addition to use as a general flatcar.
I would like to model a car in the 1955 year and would appreciate a correct number for that year. My diagram sheets show a different end configuration than a picture I bought many years ago from the Austin Models Group. The slide of bulkhead flat is numbered 821146 and looks exactly like the Walters 53 foot GSC flat car that is a bulk head flat but I do not have a 1955 official guide to get the number.
thanks
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
The 1972 Summary of Equipment shows car series TP 821100-821199 built new by GSI in 1965. The attached equipment diagram seems to bear this out.
