    Howdy

Does anyone have pics or info relating to the Mopac yard in Big Spring TX? I would like to model the yard as I grew up there as a kid. Unfortunately, I don’t have pics from back in the day.

    Todd,

I lived in Midland around 1986 and occasionally got over to shoot slides at Big Spring. However, I have not yet digitized them — I am working through my stuff scanning a few at a time, and don’t know yet when I will get to the west Texas stuff. I recall taking photos at the engine service facility of the power off the local I think, and can’t recall what else I shot. For starters, I am attaching a shot of the freight station from when I passed through Big Spring in the 70’s. That’s all I have in digital format for now. The passenger station had obviously been demolished by that time. Hope you get the information you are looking for. Feel free to contact me directly by email at:

PS Well, I tried attaching the photo, but I got a red message “the board attachment quota has been reached.” Send me an email and I’ll reply with the photo file.
PPS Trying to attach the photo again after Kevin made the fix.

As information, I have raised the attachment quota. So the issue mentioned in the previous post should be resolved.

i was there from 1960 to ’64, but was not a railfan at the time. i believe i have one roll of prints of the station at Gregg (US87) and west 1st st – would have been during visits in the seventies….. I’ll look around.
