You may recall the collection of MoPac passenger equipment that was being liquidated, on this list a couple of months ago.
Now from the same owner, about a dozen locomotives, several brass cabeese and two Hallmark plows have come available.
They’re at Papa Ben’s Train Place, 4007-E Bellaire Blvd, Houston TX 77025, papabens.com. Ask for Allyn.
A couple of the (Overland?) wood cabeese came home with me, there are still three or four (Overland?) Magor cars, one modernized de-roofed Sedalia caboose, a custom-painted (not sure whose) wood 700 series caboose, and the plows which are custom painted.
Locomotives are all custom painted, including a couple of Atlas RS-11s, a couple of P2K 500 series GP18s lownose, a couple of FT sets, and some others. Mr. Colorblind thinks the colors are decent, but that’s all I can say. Several of the Geeps have spark arrestors, and I think there’s been other detail work on some of these, all mid-60s appearance. And there are still several passenger cars.

Almost all of Gary Shaw’s collection was painted by Chuck Brown who was picky about colors until he got cataracts and eye issues and had to stop painting. These were all pre cataract
