A Brief History of the Archives
The original MPHS archives were located in a caboose located at The National Museum of Transportation. MoPac Caboose # 13546 was graciously donated by Union Pacific to the National Museum of Transportation for use as an archives by the MPHS. Today we still use the caboose for offsite storage of items that do not require temperature or humidity control.
Our current facility is about 1,200 square feet of office space located in St. Louis County and is available by appointment.
