Bert Dockall, Owner MP passenger car Eagle Cliff – In Memoriam

Bert Dockall, April 11, 1951 – June 11, 2019

Bert was employed by the ATSF as an engineer and never worked for the MP. He is listed here due to his equipment restoration and preservation efforts that included MP equipment. He was the owner of the sleeper lounge car Eagle Cliff. 

Bert Dockall, age 68 of Rockdale, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 2019 at his home in Rockdale. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Gary Jackson officiating. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Visitation will also be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Bert was born April 11, 1951 in Cameron to William Charles “Bill” and Mattie Maria (Timmerman) Dockall. He was a 1969 graduate of Rockdale High School and two years at Blinn College. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale. Burt worked his 42 year career for the Santa Fe railroad, but spent his life enriching and preserving the railroad industry and it’s history. He held membership in the Rockdale Historical Society, Austin Steam Train Association in Cedar Park and Houston Area Railroad Association. Bert was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Dockall on March 26, 2000 and his father Bill Dockall on October 10, 1966. Surviving are numerous cousins and beloved friends. Bert’s pallbearers are Gary Powell, Doc Eanes, Jim Key, Eric Hamilton, James Powell, Casey Stanislaw, Marcus Stautz, Alden Doss.
