    An inquiry on the MOPAC yahoo list asked the following question:

    On ebay seller has a partial CRI&P public timetable, which shows a map dated 1899. It shows the CRIP to FT Worth, then in heavy black line, it shows the connecting railroad to be Texas & Pacific to El Paso, then the Southern Pacific to California. Were there any thru cars or Pullmans?

    ======================

    By 1901, it appears that only a weekly through Tourist Pullman was being operated on the Chicago-Ft. Worth-El Paso-San Francisco route. Note that this service was prior to the time that RI’s own route from Liberal to Tucumcari to Santa Rosa was completed. At the same time that this weekly tourist car operated, a daily tourist car operated from Chicago via Denver and Salt Lake City to San Francisco.
