Dan Schroeder long time Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific engineer passed away recently after being involved in an accident. The accident occurred while he was out taking photographs and was not work related.

Dan was a member of the Missouri State Legislative Board and was BLE Alternate Secretary/Treasurer for several terms. He was a dedicated locomotive engineer. Dan was a longtime member of the MPHS and several of his photos are in Rails around Missouri. Dan was planning on retiring this December.

I don’t have an funeral information at this time but will update this post when I find out.
