A BIG THANKS to the Union Pacific Foundation for its generous donation of $4,400 to the MPHS for digitizing work in the archives. These funds will be used for more scanning and digitizing work in the collection. We are getting very close to having items available online.
A presentation ceremony was held on May 10, 2018 (the 148th Anniv of Golden Spike) to a number of St. Louis area organizations who received money from the Foundation. Our good friends at the John Barriger Railroad Library also received funding. The reception was at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Dupo, IL.
As you can see in the photo, Abe Lincoln was also on hand. Present from MPHS were VP Rene’ LaVoise and David Huelsing.

My former employer is pretty tight with their money so the $4,400 grant just reinforces the dedication, hard work and hours you’ve put into the archives and they obviously recognize the positive direction the Missouri Pacific Historical Society is going to preserve these artifacts.Charlie

I was hoping a business train would have been parked across the street in the Dupo Yard, but you can’t have everything. Here is a list by state of where they donated this year, quite an extensive list.

It is paying off with this and the other grants that you have been successful in procuring. As Charlie mentioned, UP is not very free with their money. It’s obvious that they see our efforts as being worthwhile. Keep up the good work.
To any readers/posters that see this and want to get involved, reply to this post and David will work to get you going. We welcome any and all serious inquiries.
