    Hi,

My name is William Burgess. I was doing a little research regarding Missouri Pacific Railroad structures i.e. depots and switch towers and in so doing came across this site. In the late 70’s through the late 80’s I use to regularly visit the depot in Jefferson City, MO and just relax watch trains and visit with the station master. Many fond memories from my time down by the tracks.

Modeled for a number of years in O gauge with the emphasis on several eastern roads. I am now retired and living in Northwest Missouri and am planning to build a small HO railroad loosely based on the MOPAC. I say loosely based because I want to have the freedom to model as I choose, but also include features representative of the MOPAC.

I believe I will learn a lot from the Historical Society and appreciate the ability to be a new member.

Welcome to the Missouri Pacific Historical Society. I worked in St. Joseph for a while back in 1975. Lots f railroad activity back then. Also worked in Jeff City before the old frame freight house was tore down.

Welcome William. I too have a small layout with Mopac elements. I started out wanting to duplicate a branch back home and got a lot of information about it from the MPHS, however I soon found that my space wouldn’t allow it so I reverted to what I have now.

    William,

Welcome to the MPHS and this forum.

I worked in and around St. Joe in 1993, 1994 and 2006. There is a lot of interesting history surrounding this area.

This bulletin board is the place to come if you have questions about the MP.
