Good Morning MoPac Friends,
The Kansas Historical Society recently added a few Missouri Pacific photos on their “Kansas Memory” web site.
For Example:

If you have not explored this site, there are a number of great photos.
Best Regards,

Selkirk is in Wichita County, nowhere near the city of Wichita. This is the second county back from the Colorado border, and the county seat (largest town) is Leoti. Greeley County, with Horace and Tribune, lies to the west. Selkirk is just across the county line from Greeley County, which is centered in the county. Horace is more or less a suburb of Tribune. Selkirk, then, is about halfway between Tribune and Leoti.

Interesting coaling station too. Thanks for posting. Worked at Horace and Scott City so familiar with the ‘scenery’ or lack there of.

Missouri Pacific Railroad depot, Kingman, Kansas (1956)
This photograph shows the Missouri Pacific Railroad depot in Kingman, Kansas. The one-story brick structure features a pantile roof with massive brackets that brace the roof’s overhangs. The depot still stands and houses the American Legion.

Missouri Pacific Railroad depot, Argonia, Kansas (1886)This photograph shows a group of men gathered in front of the Missouri Pacific Railroad depot in Argonia, Kansas. The crowd is waiting for the arrival of the first train. The one-story wooden structure with batten siding is still standing and is used for storage.
