I grew up in south St Louis county near the MoPac’s Carondelet branch and Frisco’s River Sub. Most summer days you’d find me at Alpha, Mo watching the trains of both railroads. Having relatives in New Haven, Mo would also find me watching the mainline action on the Sedailia Subdivision.

In high school I was a member of Explorer Scout Post 9497 sponsored by the MoPac with Clyde Anderson as the advisor. Fellow list member Mark Bess was also a member of the Post. Upon graduation in ’77 the Mop wasn’t hiring trainmen/switchmen out of St Louis, so off to college I went and got a degree in Computer Science.

Long time modeler of the MoPac. My fIrst kit bash project as teenager was a chopped nosed Geep following an article (Bill Hoss?) had in early issue of The Eagle newsletter. I still have that locomotive in a display case as 1776 is the bi-centennial scheme. I reside in Kirkwood, Mo with a view of the Mop row at Kirk Jct. Currently modeling the Mop’s Warsaw line set in 1929 era, although not as well known as that “other” Missouri branch line being modeled.

    Rene,

Just wanted to say thanks for the great presentation at the Jefferson City meet. I’d love to find out more about your version of the Warsaw branch in 1929!
