I am starting to put together the data package for the SSM 3Rd rail models for there current T&P 2 10 4 in O scale 1/48.
there will be 4 versions offered in 2 and 3 rail. the 610-624 I1a series and the 640-654 I1c series. These will be imported
the 1 st quarter of 2018. The last time these were imported by Max Gray was 1963 and if you can fined one the bring any where
    from 2500- 3K.

What I am in need of is a drawing showing the lettering sizes for the tender cabs and domes. I know the cabs are 16″
    tenders sides I think 8″ tender ends 3 -4 “?

If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated, will pay for all reproductions cost.

    Regards

Sorry, don’t have the 2-10-4 diagrams in the collection. Lots of other T&P steam stuff, but not that.

Bill, I took a look through the digital archives. We have a stenciling drawing dated 9-28-1948 that states it is for all classes except “P” and “M”.
It has a specific note regarding the addition of the “R” to the 2-10-4 “I” class designations, so I am pretty confident this drawing covers them.

Cab numbers: 16″ tall, 14″ wide
    Sand dome numbers: 4″ tall
    Tender lettering: 8″ tall
    Tender end number: 6″ tall

The scan is too large for me to post here, and I cannot make a low res version without losing readable detail. I emailed the large PDF file to your Delta Models email address. If for some reason you cannot retrieve the file via email, let me know and I will send a link to my Dropbox folder.

Please let us know if this diagram is helpful.

Thanks to all that responded. Ted yes I receive the large drawing and it will help me greatly. This came from the MPHS digital archives
that are being done by volunteers. This just goes to show that its a great resource to use when you need help.

I remember may years ago probably 25 I talked to the late Dale walker who was the archivist at that time. I was interested Mainly the Valley items in Texas STLBM IGN Kingsville any thing to do with the valley area. Dale said I will see what I can find. Well about a week later in the mail comes a 2 lb envelope with a hand written 9 page ledger of what was included. I mean we were talking large format materiel. I never expected all he sent.
I wrote out a check for 25.00 to cover his cost and sent it to him. that was a great service in the hands on age.

That’s why the MPHS is the greatest and remember all volunteers.

    Thanks every one.

Ted – I guess I was looking in the wrong folder, I saw some for other steam classes, but glad you found it. See, I told you all that T&P steam stuff would come in handy.
    Thanks,
    DH
