This book was mentioned a while ago and I bought it. It is a well-dome publication, But it is a coffee-table book, not a history book. It will be of interest to those novices that want some general facts. If you are experienced and are looking for specific information on STL railroads or trolleys, there are many more informative books available. I am not criticizing, just presenting my thoughts. My copy is going to the Amarillo Railroad Museum library. Jerry Michels
Bud MossParticipantWhen we talk about white covers, on the system timetables were these cover the tough ‘paper’ found on the final versions or regular white paper? I have older division timetables with the word PROOF overprinted in the front page. This information sure make a system ETT a bit more interesting if not ‘colorful!’ Jerry Michels
Bud MossParticipantThis is very interesting I have the dark blue and silver versions. What does the archive have? Looks like an interesting set of information that needs to be written up to pull the variations out of the woodwork. Jerry Michels
Bud MossParticipantYea, that link worked Kind of weird, but insightful.. Thanks.
Bud MossParticipantThe cover look’s nice. I wish the site provided more photos. Being a diehard STL fan, I am sure I will buy it. Thanks David

Bud MossParticipantHi Jeff, happy to welcome you into the BEST railroad historical society in existence. If you love the MoPac, you’ll love it here. Jerry Michels
Bud MossParticipantThanks Charlie!
Bud MossParticipantDo you know it the Atlas CEI Gp7 will be DCC or just DCC-ready?
Bud MossParticipantI have two of the GP7s and they would look nice in combination with the F-units. Maybe Nate can provide some info the process and their intended concept. Good luck! They sure will be welcome. Jerry
Bud MossParticipantGod protect you Patrick. Be safe.
Bud MossParticipantLooks doctored to me. Jerry

I cannot imagine having known a time when steam ruled 100% of the railroads and then watch it go away. The loss of pageantry must have been hard to bear. Jerry

They were not his favorite, steam being his real love. However, he did photograph them. He even photographed all the way to the end of the MoPac. As he said; ‘there wasn’t anything else to take pictures of.’ Jerry Michels
Bud MossParticipantGreat recap Ron. I used to follow that route years ago when driving from Colorado back to Amarillo. Many years ago that was the firs time I saw distributed power. I saw the lights of a locomotive ahead but could never catch up with the train. We were going the same way, and I was looking at the rear! Too bad there isn’t a way to preserve those old boxcars! Maybe they will sit another 20 years. Jerry.
