    Ryan,
I do not remember seeing that division in ‘Down the Iron Mountain Route’, but I might be mistaken.
I just opened up “The Empire that Missouri Built”. Quite a few entries for Arkansas, but the entries are alphabetical, not by division.
If you have the town names on the division, I can look up the entries.
Nice blurbs on each town, but not much operation details.

    Hello Thomas,

Thanks. There a couple of pictures in the “Down the Iron Mountain Route”. One from Lakeview, Mcgehee, and Latour and several of Lexa. I just got that “The Empire that Missouri Pacific Built” book and it does indeed include info about several stops on the line. Thanks for your help and let me know if you run by anything else

There are no photos before the 1980s and about a dozen photos of locomotives from the 1980s with Missouri Pacific lettering on them

How many historical photos of the Mopac are included?

Sorry for delayed response as I have been out of the office. I actually have not seen the final copy with photos but will email the author and get an idea and get back to you. Might take a day or two.

    Thanks,

From October 1937 through May 1946, Missouri Pacific’s employee magazine was published in a larger format. I am looking for the August 1938, December 1940 and September 1945 issues. I have a number of other issues available for trade on a favorable basis (three for one) or would be happy to purchase.

    Hello Bill,

I know this is an old post but thought I would respond to it. I am looking to acquire the February 1941 issue of the Missouri Pacific Lines Magazine. Do you have one available that you would be willing to sell? It is for research at Delta Heritage Trail State Park on the line the Delta Eagle ran.

    Thanks,

The Jim Bennett article referenced is below. This was a very short, summarizing article. The Delta Eagle was Jim Bennett’s favorite MoPac passenger train (along with RI’s Choctaw Rocket and all StLSW passenger service). I seem to recall a more lengthy Jim Bennett article on the Delta Eagle, probably published in the Arkansas Railroader, but I don’t have that immediately at hand.

Jim had a friend in the printing business in Stuttgart, which allowed Jim to create a variety of printed forms, usually commemorative envelopes or pads of note paper with various railroad advertising artwork. He commemorated the Delta Eagle operation by creating the envelope shown, and having examples postmarked at various post offices along the Delta Eagle route. Similar artwork appeared on 5×7 note pads, which Jim gave to his many friends and railroad history colleagues.

    Bill,

Thanks. I believe I have the later article published in the Arkansas Railroader.

    Bill,

Do you have a copy or a link you could send me from the 1941 edition on the Delta Eagle.

    Thanks
