I’ve recently had a member try and contact Jerry Glow for his decals and never got a response. I’ve also emailed him a few days ago without an answer.

Joe had several negatives from R. S. Plummer in his collection. Here’s a shot at Texarkana as an example.
Tom Stamey has been helping with all the T&P captions which is resulting in some great detailed information.

As Jerry noted after the MP dieselized Joe still photographed his favorite roads. In the diesel chapters (passenger and freight) I only have two images I believe he took of two GP7’s just delivered and a Baldwin Babyface trio at Jefferson City. The rest are Leeman’s and company photos. Leeman composition, to me, ranks up there with Phillip Hastings photos. Being a newspaper photographer and writer his photos all tell a story which I grouped together in the book.

Given the lack of polling pockets and the simplified construction I’d toss out this may have been made in the T&P shops for company service.August 13, 2021 at 7:10 pm in reply to: New book “Selected Photographs from the Missouri Pacific Historical Society Archives #10247peggyrothschildParticipant@jmbraddock wrote:
Count me in, too. Maybe you can add a pre-order item to the store.
It’s a manual process to keep track of pre-orders. It’s was necessary with the M-I book as we needed to determine the print run and with the Rapido locomotives as we took a deposit. Just watch this site and the Eagle magazine for when we have them available for purchase.

Wayne was a Post-Dispatch photographer and railfan so his newspaper credentials got him several rides on the MP. 1943 Kirkwood hill helpers, Pinckneyville local with a 2-8-2, Sikeston local switching a large mill and cab ride in a PA. All in the book.

Nice to see all the medium and large format negatives – looking forward to the full page images.

We had one 8×10 negative labeled on the envelope ‘7th Street Freight House, St Louis, Mo’ I was using for the book Bill Pollard said it looked like the Mopac Memphis freight house and sent back some images that certainly showedwas a match. I was able to enlarge the part of the negative with the trunks of the late 1920 cars and could read ‘TENN’ on the plates to verify it was the Memphis location.

There’s that much excellent subject matter in the collection. I’ll post some images

But you won’t be disappointed in the content.

Let me look I might have a set.peggyrothschildParticipantRyan
Very nice work; I remember having meeting with Mechanical and Marketing when these were developed. Seems they were used on trackage with light loading conditions due to the bridges.peggyrothschildParticipantI had a metal motor freight sign that hung in the freight area at the MP facility here in Omaha. I donated it to the archives years ago. The same logo, as a decal, was applied to the doors on the MPTL tractors.
I have a similar bus sign these hung at a station or contractors bus stop.
