Tying attachment again.
queen_ga2_2ParticipantThat’s a good one for sure. I will be working on a couple of decal sets through Precision Design based upon selected examples, suitable for a ~1905-1910 timeframe. Let me know if you are interested and I will be happy to share a few.

queen_ga2_2ParticipantPerhaps a stand-in for this ACF sawtooth boxcar?
queen_ga2_2ParticipantThanks! Great info.
queen_ga2_2ParticipantKevin,
Also, if you have interest in this area and its history, you might enjoy this map from 1906-1908:
https://www.kansasmemory.org/item/218290
It shows a large swath of the Pittsburg Sub in S.E. Kansas and the mines at that time. The image is rather large, so I did not post a copy here.

queen_ga2_2ParticipantThanks Kevin for your reply,
The first house I remember living was south across the street from the grain elevator there in Carona. I probably waved at you going by many times! We moved around 1974 when the house was damaged by lightning. My grandfather owned property on either side of the right of way and had a house just across the tracks and on the west side of the road from where Heart of the Heartlands sits today. When staying with him we would always go out to watch the MoPac roll by.

queen_ga2_2ParticipantOne more before I put them away….[attachment=0:3nbfcv8n]IMG_0369 (2).JPG[/attachment:3nbfcv8n]
queen_ga2_2ParticipantThanks Gary and Charlie!
I will post a few more photos with earlier equipment (and include MoPac). Charlie, what ever happened to the ten-wheeler that was on the Bagnell Branch? I would love to borrow it for some photos.
-Bob T.
queen_ga2_2ParticipantAnother Iron Mountain example appeared today online with a caption of “Railyards near Kansas City Union Station looking south to Hospital Hill ca 1917”. Photo attached.
queen_ga2_2Participantqueen_ga2_2ParticipantThank you Charlie. This is a fantastic find. I will post pictures of model cars as I have them.
Patrick, the decals are in the K4 Decals store on eBay. There are two versions.
-Bob T.
queen_ga2_2ParticipantThank you for this great information. I would love to have the same for the Frisco.

queen_ga2_2ParticipantCharlie,
Fantastic work! I am a big fan. The article you provided for the most recent Eagle was an excellent summary.

Missouri Pacific Railroad depot, Kingman, Kansas (1956)
This photograph shows the Missouri Pacific Railroad depot in Kingman, Kansas. The one-story brick structure features a pantile roof with massive brackets that brace the roof’s overhangs. The depot still stands and houses the American Legion.

Missouri Pacific Railroad depot, Argonia, Kansas (1886)This photograph shows a group of men gathered in front of the Missouri Pacific Railroad depot in Argonia, Kansas. The crowd is waiting for the arrival of the first train. The one-story wooden structure with batten siding is still standing and is used for storage.
