Joel S. Boucher, Clerk – In Memoriam

Joel S. Boucher, age 86, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 21, 2017, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Joel was born August 18, 1931, in Council Bluffs to the late William and Hazel (Wilson) Boucher. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1949 and proudly served his country in the National Guard. Joel married Patricia Hickenbottom on February 10, 1955, in Bellevue, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Daniel, Janet and Karen. Joel worked as clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad for 60 years, retiring in 2010. He was an active member of Excelsior Lodge #259 AF & AM; Tangier Shrine; Camerail and UP Oldtimers. Joel was also a volunteer at the UP Museum in Council Bluffs.

In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Jones; and his brother, William Boucher.

Joel is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Boucher; son, Daniel (Lisa) Boucher; daughters, Janet Boucher and Karen Jones all of Council Bluffs; 3 grandchildren, Matthew and Meghan Boucher, Malinda Jones; and great grandson, Sebastian Joel Boucher; nieces and nephews.
