I’m glad to see this sort of forum open up.

I’m originally from Mer Rouge, LA (and still own property there) which is north of Monroe and south of McGehee on the old MoPac Louisiana division. The town was a division point on the old Iron Mountain “Valley” division until things were consolidated after the St.LIM&S merged into the MoPac. Our farm is very close to the old Natchez branch which left the mainline in Collinston, LA.

I now live in Fort Worth, Texas and teach biology and anatomy at both Brookhaven College and University of North Texas. I have no layout at present but mostly concentrate on the 1953 era in HO (+/- five years) and but would like to have some way to tie together operations of the branchlines out of Gurdon, AR, and branches/interchanges in Malvern and Hope, AR. I will probably model Hope in a spare bedroom in my next home (or maybe the TP branch from Texarkana to Shreveport). I am also dabbling a little in the 1977 era (also +/- five years) so I can operate on a friend’s layout.
