I saw where Walthers has re-issued their 49′ quad hoppers again…with “tooling improvements”.

Did the MPHS provide any information on these cars? The reason I am asking is that they are closer to the 3209 cars that we talked about in another thread…and yet…Walthers has the WRONG numbers on the cars this time. The cars would fit nicely into the 3209 slot if they were numbered and the correct eagle decals on them. Repainted 3209’s should have received the smaller eagle emblem after being shopped in DeSoto…
IF the tooling has indeed been updated, I would be interested in these cars…provided the reinforcing angles are either eliminated altogether, or added on as a photo-etched part.
I sent an email into Walthers notifying them of the errors…hopefully, we’ll see what happens. This is not the 3209 car that I spoke of in the other thread, BTW. However, if Walthers has indeed upgraded the tooling…the cars would be great kit-bashing fodder…for MP 3209 cars.

Am glad you contacted them, they’ve used us for several projects but not this one.
Well, the cars were nice running cars back in the day…hopefully, they’ll check the numbers…I did thank them for bringing the cars back out. I ordered two of them…and will most likely use Mask Island decals…
Walthers is sticking by their guns…and will leave the cars “as-is”.
FYI.
