Does anyone have any information on Mopac owned enclosed autoracks, either on company flats or Trailer Train flats? I’ve tried finding photos of these online and I have not had any luck. To this day I can find UP marked racks with MP sublettering, but I have yet to see how MP painted and marked their own racks pre-merger. I’m particularly interested in trilevel autoracks, but after finding nothing there I’m curious to see any bilevels that might turn up.
After I finished working on these photos, I saw you were looking for enclosed racks. So, not what you wanted, but……95-10 Nov 71.jpg[/attachment:20gam73l]244-13 Jul 75.jpg[/attachment:20gam73l]
Not exactly what I asked for, but those photos are awesome anyway! Thanks for posting.
Hi Ryan,
It took me some time, but I searched through the MPHS Digital Archives for enclosed autoracks. So far, I have only found these two photos. One is a roofless rack on a Trailer Train flat. I cannot tell if it is bi-level or tri-level. The other shows most of a MP rack at the GM Shreveport assembly plant.MP autoracks at GM Shreveport.jpg[/attachment:qt42ctkm]MP roofless rack on TTGX flat.jpg[/attachment:qt42ctkm]
