Where can I find color pictures on the interiors of the Colorado Eagle? none of my MoPac books seem to have color interior shots.

I’ve not seen color shots either. Since the CE was put in service during wartime I also heard they downplayed it being placed in service due to wartime travel restrictions. This might be why no color shots and no fanfare. Several do exist on the MRE as it was placed in service in March 1940.

The 1961 MP Pocket Calendar is an interior photo of a passenger car, but doesn’t indicate the train or date taken. Does anyone know the origin of the photo?

I have been told that the parlor car image on the 1961 card calendar shows the interior of the parlor cars that had been purchased second-hand from the C&O in 1959 and renumbered 752-755. These cars ran briefly on various St. Louis-Kansas City day trains before being converted to coaches.

There are 20 or so pictures of the Eagle at the Missouri State Historical Society website. I dont remember off hand which train but they show numerous interior shots around 1940. here is the link to 1 of them, http://digital.shsmo.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/imc/id/12673/rec/1
