Rapido has announced a RS-11 was somewhat hoping it matched those bought by the MP but it’s not close. Same car body as the RS-11 done by Atlas.
You’re right, Charlie. But coincidentally I wrote to Rapido today:
Will there be a version without the dynamic brake? I’m aware that this affects the number and location of carbody vents also.
I’m thinking specifically of Missouri Pacific.
And got this response:
]Hi Ron,
Absolutely!

So I suppose, someday, maybe, we’ll get our wish.
I was inspired by discussions on Andy Harman’s “list”, basically a mail exchange about diesels. There’s a roster, so besides MP the other lines that got RS11s without dynamics were Erie Mining, GB&W, NdeM, NKP, NYC, SCOP (S-BC),and TP&W. At least we weren’t unique.

Thanks for contacting them – at least the NYC is in the group so two large RRs might make it due-able. They are supposed to be going a Mopac FPA-2 but It’s not in their initial run.
I checked out those web pages also, while I was at it. The FA-2/FPA-2 appears to be on, with reservations closing on September 17. The FB-2, however, says that this one is a conditional offer and won’t be done unless there are more reservations. I hadn’t realized that the two were being treated separately. I also hadn’t realized that they are doing both the FA-2, in three numbers, and the FPA-2, also with three appropriate numbers.

Rapido wants information on the MP units (NOT the GP16 EMD rebuilds); but the as-delivered MP RS-11’s.
Spoke with Dan Darnell at Trainfest on Nov 10; he indicated he wanted information on the Missouri Pacific versions.
