Ab Rees, Senior Executive – In Memoriam

Albert “Ab” Rees, Jr., 76, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Thursday April 14, 2022. Memorial Services will be held on Monday May 2 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068. Visitation is from 2:00-3:00, service from 3:00-4:00, and meal in the church basement from 4:00 – 5:00. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contribution to the Alpha-1 Foundation. Ab was born August 29, 1945, in Council Grove, KS. He retired as a Senior Executive from the Railroad in 2002, having worked for 40 plus years for the Missouri Pacific Railroad beginning in 1964, as well as the Union Pacific, Santa Fe and Kansas City Southern Railroads. Afterwards he worked for Railworks Inc. until 2004. Ab was also very active in the Alpha-1 Foundation and AlphaNet serving as a board member, and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Beyond Ab’s professional accomplishments he was loving and dedicated to his family. Ab is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lynne E. Rees, six children; Albert W. Rees III, Aaron James Rees, Alisha Whitney Brubaker, Ashley Brooke Kirkpatrick, Taylor Yukiko Remington Rees, and John Yuto Rees, and nine grandchildren, Aaron Michael Rees, Alexa Rae Rees, Jacob Glenn Brubaker, Aubree Rose Rees, Abigail Odessa Rees, Alexander James Brubaker, Connor James Kirkpatrick, Ava Lorraine Kirkpatrick, and Jayla Whitney Brubaker. He is also survived by his dear mother, Virgie Rees Riedl and Eugene Riedl, and nieces Mindi Feltner and Richelle Rees, extended family and many well loved friends.
