    Pat,

    I do not own a Walthers GP15-1 so I’m unable to comment on running ability.

    Yes, they would have run to New Iberia. A former Missouri Pacific engineer, Robert Currie, discussed the salt mine operations on his website plus on the Facebook Missouri Pacific page shared several photos. His is a great guy to discuss and answer questions. He said when the GP15-1s arrived they would use three of them and they were the premiere power used for New Iberia for the salt mine.
