This is a welded 1948 built caboose. Mopac used
the fish belly underframes from old 36′ double sheathed Boxcars and built these in the railroad shops. The other version was riveted. Assume you want the caboose to look in the last paint scheme before it was retired. The Missouri Pacific Historical Society president just restored a wide vision caboose and had to have the Eagle and buzzsaw on the side made by a shop in Kansas City. He can get you in contact with them. The number before retirement would have been in the 13000 or 12000 series and was generally placed below the Eagle decal on the sides, above the end doors and stenciled in the interior.
