The railroads used stock cars from various roads on a seasonal basis. So if the MP needed stock cars and NYC had stock cars available, they were used for a time. I found this out analyzing the conductor records on the Warsaw Branch. There were foreign road stock cars almost everyday including Milwaukee Road and Pennsy.
