This year’s annual convention will be held in Houston, TX. Find more info here – http://www.mopac.org/annual-convention/109-2015-houston-tx-upcoming
July 9, 2015 at 10:21 pm #6710clemmie_doris12ParticipantWe have put together a discount package for those that would like to ride the Texas Eagle to the convention. Also, we are going to have a commemorative, limited edition T-shirt for the convention.
Details for both subjects are now posted on the website.

July 18, 2015 at 2:25 am #6820clemmie_doris12ParticipantPat,
I don’t think any of the convention planners are on here. As far as I know there is no change to the schedule except for the opportunity to visit Settegast Yard to see the UP 1982 which is the MoPac heritage unit. This will probably be on Sunday morning.
As far as presentations go, we can only offer what people volunteer to present. If you or someone you know wants to give a presentation that is relative to Louisiana, we will be happy to try and fit it in the schedule.
July 18, 2015 at 2:47 am #6822bargetanikaParticipantI don’t know enough to give a presentation on anything, other than get up and ramble for a hour about what I saw on the New Iberia and Northern when I was 15.
July 18, 2015 at 3:13 am #6823clemmie_doris12ParticipantPat,
We have several individuals that would be willing to help you put together a presentation. If not this year, maybe later on. Think about it.

September 2, 2015 at 1:38 am #7181benjamintickell53ParticipantRide Share between Houston Hobby airport and Hilton Southwest Hotel (approximately 20 miles; 30-45 minutes depending on traffic). If any MPHS members are flying into Houston Hobby on Thursday morning October 8, or flying out of Hobby by mid-afternoon Sunday October 11, there is a possibility for ride/cost sharing on a direct SuperShuttle (versus one that makes all the “local” stops between Hobby and the hotel). Cost would be dependent on the number of people riding; departure from the airport about noon Thursday for the hotel; departure from the hotel to Hobby by noon Sunday. If interested, contact me and we can determine what options are available.

If you are interested in a convention T-shirt, you need to order it, now. This is a pre-order item and there will be few, if any, extras made up. Do not expect to be able to purchase one at the convention. You may be disappointed if you do.
We recently created a listing on the Company Store web page for convention registration. This listing should make registration more convenient for those that are able to use PayPal.
This will be a great convention. Don’t miss it.
October 6, 2015 at 9:57 pm #7320mopacKeymasterReceived my convention T shirt today. I must say I am very happy with it, nice quality item and well done.
I would like to thank all those who had a hand in making this possible.

October 11, 2015 at 12:36 pm #7325Thomas NagyMemberI didn’t stay long enough to pick up my T-Shirt. Glad that it is a nice one. We checked out first thing Friday morning. Could not take the airborne dust, the hammering and power tool noise, the limited parking and dining area, the proposed water shut off, etc. I am very upset with Hilton that they did not disclose their major remodeling project. It was not disclosed during the reservation process or on their website. We spent four(4) days on the road round trip by automobile. We drove over 2600 miles. We spent about $750.00 on fuel, lodging, meals, etc. My wife used five(5) days vacation from her employment. It goes without saying, for us, we did not have a good time. We would have skipped this convention !
