Art Johnson of Springfield, Missouri took over 40,000 photos and sold them back in the 1970’s to a number of railfans. Bill Hoss first introduced me to his work and I bought several of his early diesel and depot prints from him through the mail. Art died in the 1980’s and I’d initially heard his brother had acquired the collection and was going to start selling Art’s prints.
Anyone know if these photos were ever made available again or where the collection is today?
Here’s a couple of samples of his work.

The San Angelo TX Railroad Museum may be a likely place. Art Johnson’s younger brother, Allen Johnson, was heavily involved in this museum before his death, and much of his photo collection was donated to the museum.

Does anyone have first hand knowledge about this museum, or have purchased prints or scans from this collection?
