In 1951 my Dad bought a small 40 acre farm on the outskirts of Cabot, Arkansas. From 1951 until 1955, the year I graduated from high school, I was able to witness the MoPac under steam. Steam ended in 1955 and I moved to another state for a job, so I never knew any other era of the Missouri Pacific except steam.

Today I have an HO freelance railroad featuring steam, and I also love building MoPac steam locomotives. My rationale is that the MoPac has trackage rights over my freelance Cinder Valley. I’m not a prototype modeler, except when the object is a Missouri Pacific steam locomotive.
