11 APR 2022 From old maps, such as 1939 USGS, one can infer the location of the abandoned SLIM&S and SSW lines at Birds Point, MO. Does anyone know where the transfer boats docked on the IL side? An 1888 highly-stylized birds-eye map by Henry Wellge & Co. (Library of Congress https://www.loc.gov/item/75693203/ ) shows a CV&C RR incline at the south tip, and an ICRR incline on the Ohio R side, roughly around 21st St. This map shows both the CV&C incline and the junction of the Ohio and Miss R. very close to the intersection of 2nd and Commercial. Today, it is about 1.5 miles from this street intersection to the river confluence. thank you
