Ordered a nice item from Rails Unlimited: http://railsunlimited.ribbonrail.com/Books/index.html
that arrived this week. Its a nice reprint of the circular in the title, canceling MP Circular 140-O, T&P Circular 236-G and
KO&G INDUSTRIAL GUIDE. Its 187 pages, listed alphabetically by city, then by customer of great information for research.
The description from the Rails Unlimited website:
Missouri Pacific RR List of Industries
Missouri Pacific RR List of Industries NEW. Missouri Pacific RR List of Industries in 1965. Circular 140-P Includes subsidiaries including T&P and MI. 187 pages listing the towns and industries in alphabetical order. It also lists the railroad serving each industry. $29.95
Picture of cover also on the website. I am interested in the Midland Valley just before the MP takeover, and this publication is a great resource even for that interest. Read the cover…it also lists all Team Track facilities at major competitive points.Even though its a reprint, if you’re interested…all the information is there:
Alpha listing of customer names by location, type of business, track location (on which RR). Great for prototype research as well as putting the correct industries on your model RR.
I not connected in any way with Rails Unlimited, but stumbled onto their website from a Proto:48 group. (which I also don’t model) I also bought a similar publication for the Rock Island from 1971, and their are several others listed. Shipping was fast and packing was excellent.
Have fun!
Gary H. – Omaha
It’s a great resource, Gary, but anyone considering a purchase should note that it only lists customers at points served by more than MoPac Lines. California, Mo., which I model, for example, is not listed, since it was only served by MP.
Pat Hiatte
New Bloomfield, MO
That’s right , Pat. Circular 140 only lists locations that are ‘competitive points’. Only cities that are served by
more than one railroad are listed.
