Diesel bell location

      I can usually spot the bells on MP locomotives but I am at a loss to spot them on MP GP 7, G 9 and GP 18’s. Can any of you diesel experts tell me where the MoP hid the bells on those types of locomotives? I have one photo of a GP 18 with the bell mounted up on the long hood on the fireman’s side, but this seems to be non standard.

        Great to see you on the Bulletin Board.

        I seem to recall the bell being placed under the frame between the fuel tank and front truck but could be totally incorrect.

          I believe the bells on the GP-7, 9 and 18’s were behind the steps on the front pilot. Can’t recall if the engineer or fireman side.
