      This was the water site glass used in a Mopac steam locomotive or at least it originated with a Mopac agent. Agents also used surplus ones as paperweights.

        Its a long shot, but figured I would ask. Do you know what locomotive (#) the glass came from?

          No idea but it came from a Mopac employee

            I won’t be much help, but the glass in a modern gauge glass pretty much looks like that. The ribs make it easier to see the level from an angle (reflex glass). Modern ones may be more precisely shaped, but that’s about the extent of the difference.
