Do any of you have, or have access to, the MP diagram for GP18, MP 1976, the low nose unit done as one of the two Bicentennial units in 1976? It was fitted out with a very unusual air filter system. As I understand it the air filter system was a very early rendition of what became a more standardized system similar to the Horst units seen on many Illinois Central Paducah rebuilt GEEPS . I have been unable to find an engine diagram or drawings of the system used on MP 1976. I have scoured the internet but no luck. Thanks for any info anyone might have and Merry Christmas to all.

I certainly don’t have any technical information on the Bicentennial engines, but thought I would ask a Bicentennial-related question. I waited for several years for Union Pacific to finally give authorization to model railroad decal producers to create O scale Bicentennial decals. Once produced, I ordered decals and commenced painting some MoPac Bicentennial engines. They are certainly not prototypical, but have a Bicentennial paint scheme close enough for my o gauge layout. Now that the engines are completed, I am curious to know how they were used on the MoPac system. Were they used only on freight trains, or were they utilized on any Bicentennial passenger trains. If utilized for passenger service, what did the passenger cars look like? If I can find pictures, I am inclined to paint Bicentennial-related passenger cars if I can find appropriate decals.
