Mopac employees at Pleasant Hill, Missouri around 1970. Lloyd Ford, O. G. Smith and Doug Ford. Lloyd was the South Mobile Agent and Doug was the South Stay at home agent at P.Hill and Norbert Shacklette was the Sedalia Sub Main Line Agent and the guy taking the photograph.

I don’t really remember the other two, but I definitely remember Doug Ford. He was the daylight agent/operator at Pleasant Hill during the early years of my career.

I worked there in 1975 training the guys on how to use new computers (card readers) that were replacing IBM 1050s around the railroad. Remember a former tank car steam tender in the yard that I shot numerous details of. Yard check one morning disclosed a mechanical reefer of cheese with the motor out of fuel. I remember Doug and had met O. G. Smith. Those traveling station auditors were a very dedicated and professional group of guys.

Also shot Amtrak going by the bay window when they were running EMD E-9’s
