Kudos to all involved in making this forum a reality.

Grew up in a Missouri Pacific town, Jefferson City, Mo., and was introduced to the railroad by my grandparents’ next-door neighbor, who hired out in Carthage, Mo., before WWI and ran a switch engine in Jefferson City until he retired in 1965. Tried to get hired by the MP, but they weren’t hiring and the Frisco Railway was, so I wound up completing a 35-year railroad career with BNSF in 2009.

A 1962-vintage Sedalia Sub between Jefferson City and Sedalia is under construction in a room above the garage. N scale is allowing for yards at Jeff City and Sedalia and passing tracks at Centertown, California and Tipton. Some modeler’s license is involved, for example having the Frisco replace the Katy, allowing for Frisco trains to detour over the Sedalia Sub due to “high water” on their own line. Benchwork and roadbed are complete, and track laying is proceeding apace.
