Anyone familiar with the Speedy mix plant in Greenwich Kansas? This was listed on the Wichita Sub and was a double ended spur. Did the Mop service this every day or just as a as-needed basis? Anyone have pics or drawings of this plant?
I remember walking to this plant from Bel Air when I was a young boy with the other neighborhood kids. We looked around and climbed some equipment, (I know, I should have known better but we we young and stupid). I also remember piles of aggregate around the area along with a front end loader. It seems to me there was also a conveyor located below the tracks that must have been used to unload the open hoppers and carry rock or gravel to the tipple. The front end loader was sometimes used to push the hopper cars into position to be unloaded. I could barely see the afternoon train from Wichita switching the plant out since we lived quite a bit of distance away, but I could still hear the engines groaning and see the exhaust coming out as they moved back and forth to make the moves.
Any information on this plant would be appreciated.
    Larry
