I am introducing myself as a new member of the forum.

I have been interested in trains as long as I can remember, both miniature and 1:1. I have dabbled in many scales over the years but keep coming back to O, both 3 and 2 rail.

I focus on Missouri roads, particularly MoPac and Frisco (I hope mentioning the latter here doesn’t earn me any demerits!). There is a soft spot in my heart for some of their subsidiaries, such as the Sligo and Eastern and the Mississippi River and Bonne Terre.

I appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to learn more about some of my favorite roads here on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. As a follow up to the Iron Mountain book I’m writing a second one for the Missouri Pacific Historical Society on the M-I. Hopefully to the publisher by October and printed in March. Lots on the MR&BT will be covered. Stations, locomotives, rolling stock, etc. several Missouri Pacific Historical Society members have been very generous in sharing their photo collections.

I’m a Frisco ex myself, Steve, and will add my welcome to the forum. Tried to go to work for the Missouri Pacific, but wound up with the Frisco instead. We had a joint meeting of the MoPac and Frisco groups a few years ago in Joplin, Mo., and we all got along just fine together.

I just wanted to say that I finally did something I should have done a long time ago and joined the society. The help I have gotten here has been worth more than the dues already.

        Thanks again to all!

Welcome Steve. The MPHS is a great resource, filled with friendly people. Are you primarily an historian, modeler,….? Jerry Michels

            It sure is, Jerry!
Amateur historian, long-time modeler (of strictly second-rate ability), and all-around enthusiast.
I’ve had model trains and books about trains all my life (Hey! Tootles andThe Red Caboose are about trains, right?).
I used to live in St. Francis Co., MO, which sparked a serious interest in the MoPac.
