Hey everyone, don’t be shy about introducing yourselves……..
I am a native Missourian, growing up first near Dodson on the MP Kansas City Subdivision, then moving to south Kansas City, and then Harrisonville located on the MP Carthage Subdivision. These locations gave me a constant dose of Missouri Pacific trains. I attended Univ of Missouri-Rolla and obtained a degree in metallurgical engineering. My professional career has been in process engineering and later logistics. I worked with the US Bureau of Mines on Missouri lead mining projects, aluminum smelting in the Missouri bootheel, and steelmaking and forging in Texas. My wife, daughter and I now reside in Flagstaff, Arizona.
My top interest areas of Missouri Pacific are in freight train operations, freight traffic, and industries served. You will probably find me posting mainly in the Freight Operations area of this forum. Since I am diametrically opposite of steam locomotive and passenger operations, perhaps I will generate one or two responses. 😆 I am also a modeler and am now starting an HO layout of the Kansas City Subdivision between Neff Yard and Dodson circa 1979.
