More bad news for Iowa Pacific which operates the Texas State Railroad, who owns T&P 610
Time for the MPHS to buy the T&P 610 I will donate 25.00 to get started.LOL

Here’s a news story – looks like its a seasonal layoff.

Texas State is operated by Iowa Pacific – which in the last week has had several financial problems reported including loosing the Indiana Hoosier State contract, and also something with their New York tourist line. There are also rumors I’ve heard of contractors and employees not getting paid.
Texas State may need to find a new business partner to continue operating.
It doesn’t take much to put a shortline into bankruptcy. Bridge outages, a major customer leaving or switching to truck or a major derailment. Class ones have enough variable business to weather business losses the shortlines just don’t. I agree the TSR needs another business partner.
Looks like the locals are moving fast
