The mens’ room in restaurants often features sports or race car photos. Lea’s Lunch Room in LeCompte, La., has something different….. three very nice photos of TP steam locomotives and a bonus one of one of an SP 4-8-4.
These have been there since at least 1976 when I first saw them. There are no dates or locations provided, but one is clearly at the Bunkie, La. depot.
There was a lot of glare from overhead lights on the glass over the pictures . I tried to minimize it by tilting the iPhone some, so there may be some parallax error, but I belive there is software to correct that.
Enjoy!image.jpg[/attachment:33cizzcl]image.jpg[/attachment:33cizzcl]image.jpg[/attachment:33cizzcl]image.jpg

I’m pretty sure these were taken by a gentleman from Shreveport named Ed Robinson. He was a huge T&P fan and worked for the RR for a short time but then changed professions. When I worked at Shreveport there were some large 16″x20″ black & White photos hanging in the CSC. I asked where they came from an the clerks said Ed had made them from his negatives. He also hand tinted them with oil paints as you can see I two of the prints.I visited Ed a couple of times while I was working there and I knew as soon as I walked into his house he was a bachelor, there were T&P steam locomotive photos hanging on every wall. Ed had family in Bunkie and he’d take his camera down there on trips and photograph the trains running through there as well. As you pointed out at least one or two shots you posted are taken in Bunkie. When Joe Collias was working on his T&P book I put him in touch with Ed and many of Ed’s photos are in Joe’s book.
I never heard where Ed’s negatives went after he died. Maybe someone else on the bulletin board might know.

Tom, any idea where Ed’s negatives ended up?
September 2, 2015 at 12:57 pm #7183luisflierl26ParticipantI just ran across a set of T&P steam era photos taken in I believe Palestine, TX. They are part of the MPHS Archive collection. No photographer is listed. Anyone know who took them? The depot appears to be burned in the one photo, which might help date them.

All four photos are from Palestine, TX. As such, the photos are on the MoPac, not T&P.
MoPac was all diesel in Texas by 1953 and the Texas Eagle started operation in late 1948, so the photos date 1948-1953
