Hello hopping some one one can help. I am doing a model of this
in O scale.I am real confused on how the side baggage door opens or closes.
Most all photo’s show in in s closed flush surface. Or it is some what recessed as a slide by pocket opening. If it was a flush application then the door track would ; have to be
so it slides in and then pushes shut at the rear to end.Has anyone ever seen how it does. The Rock Island AB 6 is flush as well.

wba2485811ParticipantCharlie I am having issues as well I an using Firefox. I have may photo’s to post and when i do it gives me a 500 error message.
These are projects I am building, that people would like to see, but can’t. My latest MP project is the EMD E 6 AA for the Delta Eagle baggage door with 2 cars to go with it.
Please try to get this fixed, or corrected.

Glad you enjoyed the book; I took on the project exactly how I always thought a railroad ‘picture’ book should look. Big photos with lots of details and captions that are informative. My favorites are the scenes of the transfer run from St. Louis to Dupo and the Kirkwood Hill helper service. As noted in the introduction Bill Pollard provided me with details on the passenger trains and others helped fill in details such as the switching of the mill at Sikeston and helping to identify the individuals in some of the images. Two retired MP guys, Norbert Shacklette and Jerry Laseter both started at Sikeston in 1960 and helped with the details on the Sikeston photos. Dennis Faircloth was able to identify the guys in the M-I images. Tom Stamey lended his expertise on the T&P images. I tried to use as much of book’s pages as possible for photos including the front and back end pages with the shot of Texarkana and Glendale and the table of contents with the transfer drag.Charlie

I concur with you as well on your description of the book
contents . People do not hesitate by the book, I will not be reprinted Many hats off to Charlie..Bill Basden

Mine arrived today (Kansas City area). Paged thru it before dinner and clearly it deserves careful perusing. The images are all black and white and many are from larger format negatives which show great detail in the landscape format. For those of us who model the MoPac lines during the transition period, it’s a treasure of period images with lots of surrounding structures and right of way included.
Well done and thank you Charlie!

quote=”2100Northern”]Bill, the 7100 was custom built. Therefore it never had a second engine, the baggage section was original not added later. I doubt that EMC installed a traction motor that would never be used. Jerry[/quote]
wba2485811ParticipantMy quest-ion is .. When the real motor was removed and made as a baggage room did the rear truck keep the traction motor.

BIll,
7100 was custom built by EMC in Sept 1940 with only one 1000 hp 567 engine and two traction motors, and with the rear ‘engine’ as a Baggage Room.

Kirkwood, MOwba2485811ParticipantHi Jerry thanks for the comments. The smaller one is metal , but base was added to to display on a wall. with what you say it makes
since about its use and use.The bus sing is larger , and would be mounted on a wall, or hanging
at stations that had inter bus service to a different locations , with no rail service.Bill
wba2485811Participantthanks for the Photo, helps al lot for details.
