The Eagle Submission Guidelines
Please adhere to these guidelines when submitting material for publication in The Eagle.
Articles
Whenever possible, submit material to The Eagle on disk. A hard copy of the material should also be included. This material will not be returned. The hard copy should be at least 10 point type and double spaced. Type written text may be substituted if a computer is not available. Articles should be submitted in IBM format. It may be sent on 3.5 floppy disks, a Zip disk, a CD or it may be sent as an attachment to an email. The article should be stored in Word, RTF or ASCII format.
Photographic Material
Photographic material may be sent in any format. When sending photographic prints, they should be on glossy paper. Number each photo on the back and type on a sheet of paper the caption for each photo. Be sure that your name and address is on each photo and if you wish it returned or added to the MPHS collection in the archives. On the sheet with the captions, Please make a statement that the above listed photos are owned by you (your name) and may be used by the Missouri Pacific Historical Society. Sign and date this sheet.
Drawings and Artwork
Drawings and artwork should be inked with black ink whenever possible. Computer drawings are acceptable, but should be in an AutoCAD compatible format. Please contact the editor for more information before submitting.
Mailing
Be sure your name, address and a phone number are on each item you submit. Use an envelope that is large and sturdy enough to hold all material without bending or folding. Use a mailing tube for large material. Use cardboard to protect photos from damage. Please include a statement that the enclosed items are owned by you (your name) and may be used by the Missouri Pacific Historical Society. Sign and date this sheet.
