An old topic, but I can add some additional information. The MP 3900-3949 and M.I.6150-6199 series of cars were built by Pullman Standard in 1957 for the L&NE railroad. When that railroad was abandoned, the cars were purchased second-hand by the Mopac. They are the only PS 2003 covered hoppers on the roster. There are some DeSoto built 2055 and 2072 cuft cars that are similar, but are different enough in detail to not match the model. The Mopac freight car fleet renumbering started in 1963. If you model after that time, it would be the 6-digit numbers that Perry listed above. Decals were made by Mask Island Decals for the cars and the Company Store had them in stock.
