Thinking this may have hung in the depot at Carthage and it’s one of my favorite Mopac items. Color print is signed and dated 1910. Mike Adams told me that the same image was used by the Iron Mountain but the matt showed “Iron Mountain Route” where this one shows Missouri Pacific and Arkansas, Texas and Mexico were the mentioned destinations. That’s a very nice one. Doesn’t look faded.

I wonder if this was the ‘predecessor’ of the one from 1923 or so advertising the Sunshine Special? I picked up one in an antique store in Wichita, so its provenance is lost. but I think the picture has suffered a fair bit of fading. That picture is in my Wichita house so I can’t go look at it, but if there is any Missouri Pacific labeling on the frame, it’s very small.

The colors on this example are about the best that I’ve ever seen. If you ever have a need to disassemble it, a high res scan would be nice before the inevitable aging/fading. Repro copies might be an item for the company store. In addition to the pictures, which came in both MP and IM frames, the same image also appeared on postcards.
